WHAT WE DO:
1. ACCELERATE THE GROWTH OF INNOVATIVE STEM AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS BY FORMING PARTNERSHIPS with like-minded organizations to fully leverage best practices, solutions, and resources and rapidly increase the capacity to deliver such programs. This is accomplished through our after-school program called the COMPUTER CLUBHOUSE PROGRAM. Our Computer Clubhouse program is a sponsored by a partnership with the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation [MAOF] and is licensed by the Intel Computer Clubhouse Network which is supported by the Museum of Science in Boston and the MIT Media Lab.
2. INCREASE THE NUMBER OF STEM READY LATINO YOUTH IN OUR UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES by helping build the fundamental pipeline of youth proficient in math and science in our middle schools and high schools. This is accomplished by engaging our youth through innovative tools and technology that enhance the school curriculum. For instance, all of our Computer Clubhouse members get an account to hotmath.com—which is an online program which follows our members’ specific math books used in middle schools and high schools. We continue to explore effective tools and technology that help improve our youth math and science ability. We inspire, engage, and empower our Computer Clubhouse members by tapping into our members interests and creativity with the use of technology.
